Muhammad Asim is truly an
extraordinary individual with remarkable determination and talent. Despite
facing significant physical limitations, he has managed to achieve incredible
feats that have inspired and amazed many. His swimming performance at the Awoki
Resort, where he swam in a back-talk style and spun around while singing the
song "Manikya Malaraya Poovi," left the audience in awe. Even former
Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala couldn't find words to describe the level of
admiration he felt for Asim's accomplishments.
Not only has Asim excelled in
swimming, but he has also demonstrated his advocacy for education. Through his
legal battle, he successfully converted the Velimanna Government Lower Primary
School into an Upper Primary, providing access to education for more children
in the village. His determination led to around 700 children studying in the
school that previously had only 200 students. Moreover, he even made history by
covering more than 450 kilometres in a wheelchair from the school to Thiruvananthapuram
Secretariat in 52 days, sending a powerful message about the importance of
education.
Asim's journey and achievements
serve as a reminder that nothing is impossible with dedication, passion, and a
strong will. His story will undoubtedly continue to inspire many and leave a
lasting impact on those who come across it.
Former Home Minister Ramesh
Chennithala, who came to witness the event, commented that it was indescribable
and unbelievable. Asim's was a performance that proved that nothing is
impossible. On the occasion, he presented ponnada and memento to Asim as a
tribute from Different Art Centre. Different Art Centre Executive Director
Gopinath Muthukad, Avoki Managing Director Ganesh Kumar, Chamber of Commerce
President SN Raghuchandran Nair and others were present.
Asim expressed his gratitude and
stated that the biggest joy and glory he has received till date is the applause
and encouragement given by his fellow friends, the children and the team at the
Different Art Centre.
