The Golden Goal project kicks off at Different Art Centre with a focus on Paralympics

Different Art Centre has launched The Golden Goal project, aiming to empower differently-abled children through sports. The initiative aims to train children in various sports like football, athletics, and taekwondo, preparing them for participation in Paralympics and other national and international competitions. The project, a collaboration between Different Art Centre and the Cerebral Palsy Sports Association of Kerala, was inaugurated by Puneeth Kumar IAS, Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Social Justice.

During the inauguration, Puneeth Kumar emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering the artistic and overall development of differently-abled children. He highlighted how such activities can contribute to their empowerment and recognition in society. The event was chaired by Jiji Thomson IAS, former Chief Secretary and Chairman of Different Art Centre, with Adv. Jayadali M V, Chairperson of Disability Welfare Corporation and one of the Directors of Different Art Centre, delivered the keynote speech.

The event also honored members of the Kerala team who participated in the Khelo India Paragames Championship, along with Girija Kumari, secretary of Cerebral Palsy Sports Association Kerala, who trained these children. Gopinath Muthukad, Executive Director, Different Art Centre, extended a warm welcome, while Revathi Rugmini, CEO, Different Art Centre, expressed gratitude in her vote of thanks. The inauguration was followed by a football exhibition match for cerebral palsy children, marking the beginning of this promising project.
