The first short film awards of the Different Art Centre distributed

The Different Art Centre (DAC) recently held its first short film competition, where winners received mementos, certificates, and cash prizes. The first prize went to the short film 'Isai-The Voice of Unheard', directed by Shamilraj from Kozhikode. Notable film director Prajesh Sen presented the award to Shamilraj. The second prize was awarded to 'Wind Chimes', directed by Kozhikode native Biju Seeniya, and was presented by playback singer G Venugopal. The third prize went to Sandhya, the director of 'Michelle', and was awarded by writer K V Mohankumar IAS. In the documentary category, 'Magic of Rhythms' directed by Kanjirampara Ravi received an award from Gopinath Muthukad, Executive Director, DAC.

The awards ceremony was held in person at an event organized by Magic Planet. Shyla Thomas, Director, DAC, welcomed attendees to the event. The competition featured short films focusing on themes related to the differently-abled community, carrying important messages for society. An expert panel selected the winners from numerous entries. These films will be showcased at the Short Film Festival in October.

Hundreds of people from across Kerala attended the event at the Different Art Centre, following an invitation from Gopinath Muthukad on Facebook. Visitors experienced the wonders of Magic Planet and DAC and enjoyed musical performances by playback singers P V Preeta, G Sreeram, P Susheela Devi, and Kannan Nair.
