MIND - Online Inspirational Program for Children in DAC, launched

12 August, 2020

An online motivational program – MIND - for differently abled children at the Different Art Center under Magic Planet has been launched today. MIND stands for Magical Inspiration Needed for Differently-abled.

MIND was inaugurated by Gokul S, who ranked 804 in the IAS exam in his first attempt overcoming his visual impairment. Inaugurating the event, alongside conducting the first session, Gokul said that the society should give priority to activities to bring children with disabilities into the mainstream of society like others. They are not to be sidelined in the name of their disabilities. They can only rise if they are treated like ordinary people with different abilities.

“The Different Art Center is a great place for children with disabilities. The realization of such a center under the leadership of renowned magician Gopinath Muthukad has given a new dimension to this field.”, Gokul added.

The online programme was attended by many children from the DAC.  The lively session carried a Question & Answer (Q&A) with children and their parents. The pieces of advice from Gokul were received by them wholeheartedly.

The online programme was also attended by Gopinath Muthukad, Executive Director and  Chandrasenan Mithrammala, Director from Magic Academy, Shyla Thomas and Divya, co-ordinator from DAC.

Weekly sessions for children and parents by renowned personalities will be held at the centre, as part of the MIND programme series. The next session will be led by Dr. Arun B. Nair, Psychiatry Department, Medical College on 16 August 2020.
