National Girl Child Day Celebrated at Different Arts Centre

Thiruvananthapuram: National Girl Child Day was celebrated at the Different Arts Centre (DAC) with a strong message of empowerment for girls. Skit performances by differently-abled individuals highlighted the importance of protecting girls' rights and raising awareness against gender discrimination, marking their solidarity with the cause.

All cultural programs organized as part of the celebration were led by differently-abled girls from the Centre. The event was graced by the presence of Fatima Anshi, the recipient of the National Sreshtha Divyang Award from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, as the chief guest, adding grandeur to the occasion.

In her address, Fatima Anshi emphasized that girls are proving their strength and capabilities across all fields and urged society and parents to provide them with strong support and encouragement for their growth. Fatima Anshi captivated the audience with her rendition of songs in 13 languages. She was honoured by DAC linguist Dr. A.M. Marykutty during the event.
