Nagaland: The Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan, praised the awareness program led by renowned magician Gopinath Muthukad, aimed at highlighting the importance of social inclusion for persons with disabilities. The commendation came during the Nagaland leg of Muthukad’s Bharat Yatra campaign, held Saturday at the North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) in Dimapur. After witnessing the entire awareness program, Governor Ganesan expressed his appreciation for Muthukad and his team’s efforts.

Governor Ganesan emphasized that Indian society should embrace the initiatives taken by Muthukad for the upliftment of the differently abled community. The thematic magic awareness show titled "Watch Your Watch" thoroughly elaborates on the duties and responsibilities society holds towards the disabled, instilling a sense of awareness among the audience. The governor highlighted the significance of Muthukad’s commitment to this cause and noted that such efforts deserve recognition. After the program, Governor Ganesan went on stage, congratulated Muthukad, and invited the team to Raj Bhavan, where a reception is planned for Sunday.

The event held at Bishop Abraham Memorial Hall featured a keynote address by State Disability Commissioner Detheono Nakro and showcased artistic performances by the differently abled from NEISSR. The Bharat Yatra, which commenced from Kanyakumari on October 6, is now traversing the northeastern states as it approaches the one-month milestone. So far, the initiative has been successfully presented in about 15 states. The campaign is set to conclude on World Disability Day, December 3, in Delhi.
