Jammu/Gandhinagar: Under the leadership of Gopinath Muthukad, the Inclusive India campaign for the empowerment of persons with disabilities received an enthusiastic welcome in Jammu. The initiative, which began on September 22 with a flag-off by Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, has traversed over 40 venues nationwide, including hospitals, universities, and government centers.
The campaign reached Jammu's SMGS Hospital, hosted by the Composite Regional Centre (CRC) for Skill Development. The event, graced by doctors, researchers, and activists, saw Muthukad using his magical performances to emphasize societal responsibility toward inclusivity and equality. Key officials, including Jammu Commissioner Secretary Sheetal Nanda and CRC Director Dr. Rohnika Sharma, inaugurated the event, applauding Muthukad’s creative approach and commitment to the cause.

CRC administrative officer Naveen Gupta also joined the event. The program also included performances by visually impaired individuals, further emphasizing the message of empowerment. Sheetal Nanda urged society to internalize the campaign's messages, praising Muthukad's dedication to traveling extensively to share his vision.
The journey, supported by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) under the Ministry of Social Justice, will culminate in a grand finale at Delhi's Dr. Ambedkar Convention Centre on December 3, marking International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The campaign's thematic show, "Watch Your Watch," highlights equity, progressive perspectives, and the integration of disabled individuals into mainstream society.

This campaign is Muthukad's fifth pan-Indian journey, following his previous nationwide tours promoting Gandhian messages of unity and anti-division. Through Inclusive India, Muthukad continues to inspire transformative change and bring attention to the rights and opportunities of persons with disabilities.
