Thiruvananthapuram: A documentary film based on magician Gopinath Muthukad’s ‘Bharat Yatra – Inclusive India’, aimed at spreading awareness about the importance of social inclusion in the disability sector, was officially released by acclaimed filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan.
The Inclusive India Bharat Yatra, which began on October 6, 2024, from Kanyakumari, concluded in Delhi on December 3. The 12-minute-long documentary captures the golden moments of the journey that spanned all states and Union Territories of India.
The film was directed by young filmmaker Prajeesh Prem. A digital photo album, comprising a collection of captivating images captured throughout the journey by photographer A.K. Bijuraj, was also released by Adoor during the event.
The function also honoured individuals who contributed significantly: director Prajeesh Prem, photographer A.K. Bijuraj, Gautham Sheen — who completed graphic design training at the Different Art Centre and secured a job at Concept Communications — and Afan Kutty, known for his astonishing Rubik’s Cube feats.
Afan amazed the audience by solving the Rubik’s Cube blindfolded and even creating an image of Gopinath Muthukad using the cube in record time.
The event was attended by former Chief Secretary Jiji Thomson, Different Art Centre Executive Director Gopinath Muthukad, and directors Mohanakumar, Mahesh Gupta, and Shyla Thomas, among others.
