
Thiruvananthapuram: Minister Ramachandran Kadannappally created a series of artistic wonders at the Different Art Centre, leaving the audience spellbound. The mesmerizing performances began with the minister's singing, astonishing the spectators. He captivated the audience and music lovers alike with his heartfelt renditions of songs like Kurivarachaalum kurishu varachaalum kumbittu niskarichaalum, Chandrakalabham charthiyurangum theeram, Devi sridevi, and Onnini shruthi thaazthi. His emotionally charged and professional-quality singing deeply touched the hearts of the listeners, who responded with resounding applause after each performance.
The musical extravaganza took place at the Beethoven Bungalow in the Different Art Centre as part of the World Autism Awareness Day celebrations. During the event, the minister also showcased another hidden talent—his skills on the drum set. He amazed the crowd with his rhythmic mastery, playing the drums with the vigor of a seasoned artist.
Another moment of artistic brilliance unfolded when Gautam Sheen, a child from the autism division of the Centre, presented the minister with a hand-drawn portrait. In return, the minister stunned everyone by instantly sketching a caricature of Mahatma Gandhi and gifting it to the audience. Through his singing, drumming, and painting, the minister made Autism Awareness Day truly meaningful.
Speaking at the inauguration, the minister emphasized that the talented differently-abled individuals at the Different Art Centre are a true asset to the nation. He also noted that the Centre is the ideal place to learn the essence of humanity and reiterated that art and artists transcend barriers of caste and religion.
Actor Mohan Ayiroor graced the occasion with his special presence. Gopinath Muthukad, Executive Director, Different Art Centre, delivered the welcome address, while intervention director Dr. Anil Nair gave the vote of thanks.
As part of the celebrations, the newly formed D-Band at the Centre delivered a stellar performance. The band is led by autistic individuals from the Centre, including Christine Rose Tojo, Muhammad Rabi, Abhijith P, Nikhila S.S, Akhilesh, John Jose, Ashwin Shibu, Shiva Nandu, Alan Michael, Piyush Raj, and Manav P.M.
