Football legend I.M.Vijayan joined the children at Different Arts Centre (DAC), Trivandrum in an endearing little football match at the inaugural function of their new playground. It was indeed an exciting affair for the spectators to watch the children at DAC score goal after goal, at the goalpost manned by Vijayan himself in the penalty shootout. Vijayan described the experience as ‘heart-warming and special.’ He also added that he was quite amazed by how ‘smart and efficient’ the children at DAC are.
The founder of DAC, magician Gopinath Muthukad, Manager Jin Joseph and Coordinator T.Divya also joined I.M.Vijayan and the kids at the playground. At DAC, various programs like yoga, meditation, outdoor games and drills are being conducted to develop and enhance the aptitude of differently-abled children in sports.
Sports and games also help develop agility, encourages children to be team-players, improves physical and mental health and contributes to an overall well-rounded personality development in children with special needs. Taking this into account, Muthukad stated that the team is planning to roll out an extensive sports program at DAC. He added that they also have plans for a sports center soon.
