Horticulture
therapy,
an innovative therapy model to make the changes in the Differently abled
community inaugurated yesterday at Different
Art Centre (DAC).
The Horticulture Therapy was
inaugurated by Shri. V. Muraleedharan,
Honble. Union Minister of states for External Affairs, Govt. of India. The inaugural function was presided by Shri. V N Vasavan, Honble. Minister for
Culture, Govt. of Kerala.

Gopakumaran Nair, Chief
General Manager of NABARD, Shri. Roy Stephen, DEAN of Kerala Agricultural University (KAU),
Smt. Minu Anwar, District
Development Officer of NABARD were
present in the function.
Shri.Gopakumaran Nair, who was the Guest of Honour briefed the role of
NABARD for this kind of social commitments, Smt. Minu Anwar delivered the felicitation
speech & Shri. Roy Stephen explained
the principles of the Horticulture
Therapy.
In the inaugural speech, Shri. Muraleedharan said, the skillsets
of the differently abled community are most relevant to the development of the
nation and DAC’s initiatives are highly appreciable in nurturing the
differently abled community to excel their hidden talents. He further added in
his speech, the horticulture therapy model would be a set example in making
changes in the differently abled through plants and other yields from the plants.
The modalities being followed in DAC to
nurture the differently abled community will be a trend setter for others
to follow. He assured all the supports from the union government for the
initiatives being driven by Different Art Centre towards the fulfilment of
Differently abled.
During the presidential address, Shri. V.N. Vasavan said, DAC has been
continuously putting it initiatives to bring the differently abled community to
the main stream and the context adopted
by DAC is gratifying the desire and he assured whatever possible sustenance
from the state government side. DAC’s
efforts will glorify the agro-culture behaviour in the society, he further
added in his speech.
The horticulture therapy at Different Art Centre is fully equipped with
all the desire & needs supposed to be adopted with respect to this
therapy model. The flower garden,
Vegetable garden, sensory garden, fruits garden & medicine plants garden
etc. are the part of this.
Rotating pot, Vertical Garden, Hanging Pots & Garden on Bed are also live in the therapy garden.

Executive Director, The Academy of
Magical Sciences & Different Art Centre welcomed all the distinguished
guests and audience and he has conveyed that, this therapy model will be an
asset to this organization with respect to
make the noticeable changes and improvements in the Differently abled community.

for supporting this project financially & highlighted the support from
Kerala Agricultural University (KAU)
for the constancy support extended to implement this project.
