Graphic Design Training Launched at Different Art Centre

Thiruvananthapuram: A new initiative to empower individuals with disabilities by enhancing their employment skills and opportunities has been launched at the Different Art Centre. As part of the IMAGE Project, a Graphic Design and Editing training program has begun in collaboration with Toonz Academy.

The second batch of this project was officially inaugurated by ASAP Chairperson Usha Titus IAS. The event also featured the unveiling of a digital portrait of Usha Titus, created by Gautham Sheen, a student who successfully completed the first batch of the program.


Speaking at the event, Usha Titus emphasized the importance of not just providing skill training to people with disabilities but also ensuring that they are given adequate job opportunities. She stressed that society as a whole must take responsibility for supporting these individuals in becoming self-reliant.

Prominent figures present at the launch included P. Jayakumar, CEO, Toonz Media Group , Gopinath Muthukad, Executive Director, DAC and Dr. Anil Nair, Invention Director, DAC.

The training is currently being attended by 20 students, with expert instructors from Toonz Academy delivering the sessions. The primary objective of this program is to equip individuals with disabilities to start their own ventures, generate income, and achieve self-sufficiency.

In the first batch of the IMAGE Project, 19 students successfully completed the course, showcasing the potential and success of this impactful initiative.
