Empowering with Magical Love – A Magical Awareness program – Dubai 

The special children of DAC got an opportunity to perform at an event in Dubai, on 14th January 2023 with the support of the International Promoters Association (IPA), Dubai. The team consists of 33 members including children with disabilities, parents, teachers, and technical staffs. The event was a great success and the program was witnessed by nearly 5000 members directly and through online platforms. The team performed magic, music, dance, drama art, instrumental music, etc. at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Oud Metha, Dubai. People from all walks of life appreciated our students and congratulated the whole team for their performance. 

The team was guided by their mentor and Executive Director, Shri. Gopinath Muthukad has initiated this program, titled ‘Empowering with Magical Love, with the support of the IPA. The team performed different art forms for a duration of two hours at ‘Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Oud Metha, Dubai, in front of a distinguished audience.

The program was aimed at creating opportunities for children with disabilities to be part of cultural events in society and thereby boost their confidence and social skills. It was also an awareness program for the public about disability inclusion and the rights of Children with Disabilities and also resists the misconceptions of society and the discrimination against them.

The dignitaries who attended the event were really amazed by the stunning performance of these children and after the event, they met the participants individually and enquired about their health, family, and their experience in Dubai. All the team members are traveling to Dubai for the first time, and they also shared their inflight experiences. Their performance proved that their physical and mental disability is not a barrier to achieving their dreams. By providing equal opportunities, they can also win their goals. Others just need to encourage them for their hard work. 

The performance titled ‘Empowering with Magical Love’ is an initiative by the Different Art Centre with the support of the International Promoters Association (IPA), Dubai. The children from Different Art Centre also performed in Singapore on May 2022 and in New Delhi on August 2022. They also got an opportunity to meet the honorable President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu during their visit to New Delhi.

Gopinath Muthukad introduced every member to the audience and he shared his experience with these children. Even though he had visited Dubai several times, and did many performances here, this was the best ever moment for him after a show. He also explained the scientific study report from Government organizations, ensuring the changes in the children after they enroll in the centre and started their training. 

The team returned back to Trivandrum on 16th January after the 3 days trip.
