Differently-abled children at Different Art Centre are now in their second phase of chess training with Roshen's Chess Academy. Over the past year, Roshen Nair and his father Sanjay Nair, an IT professional in Portland, have been coaching the kids online. The aim is to prepare them for national and international competitions. Shiju BK, Mohammad Asheeb, Ardra Anil, Aparna Suresh, Anurag MA, and Albin Varnan are the children currently undergoing chess training. The centre plans to extend this training to more children. According to Coach Sanjay, chess helps in intellectual development, independent thinking, and life skills enhancement.
